1775 Undergarments
Loosely based off of French paintings, this 1776 gown presents all the glitz and glamour of the late Rococo period. Using three historical patterns from Janet Arnold’s first book, eleven yards of silk taffeta and organza, and more faux diamonds than you can count, this gown quickly earned the nickname of ‘Rococo Barbie’. The underpinnings are comprised of pink rose coutil and pink linen. The patterns used for these garments were from Janet Arnold’s first book and Norah Waugh’s “Corsets & Crinolines”.
